Pat the Dog Theatre Creation and Pinch Cabaret are delighted to partner and present {dis}ABILITY Unleashed : A Celebration Honouring International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This very special evening will be held December 7, 2024 at The Studio Theatre, Centre in the Square. It’s in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), an annual event hosted by the United Nations to promote awareness and support of people with disabilities. 2024 IDPD is December 3.

{dis}ABILITY Unleashed honours the diverse contributions of disabled individuals across disciplines in our community. Featuring the talents of Singer and Songwriter CJ Janzen, Comedian Ken Roche, Dancer Siyobin Blanco, Musicians Connor Wilde & Alex Keefe and Poet Emily Akerman. Rounding out the line-up are the {dis}ABILITY PRIDE Singers.

Tickets are $25 and are available at Centre in the Square Box Office. Also available for sale are art displays and book exhibitions from disabled creators.

International Days of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 47/3. This annual observance is about promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life. Pinch Cabaret and Pat the Dog Theatre Creation join the UN in observing this day, reinforcing the importance of securing the rights of people with disabilities, so they can participate fully, equally and effectively in society with others, and face no barriers in all aspects of their lives.
